I WAS FOUR YEARS OLD when my father phoned me from Ngorongoro Crater. As he showed me his photographs later that summer, I dreamed of seeing it with him. But he passed away before we fulfilled that wish. So when I finally stood on the rim of Crater myself, it was blurry through my tears.
Today, as Director of Conservation for Naples Zoo, I spend over a month in Africa each year living in the joy that my waking eyes are blessed to witness the world of my childhood dreams. I am grateful to continue my parent’s legacy conserving wildlife and always carry one of my dad's bandana’s on my travels in his honor. My 2024 safaris are sold out, but the May 2025 itinerary is now available so Tanzania can fill your dreams, too! |
